Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: Can I have a symbolic ceremony or a vows renewal
with no paperwork involved?
A: Yes! And the ceremony is exactly the same as the
legal wedding. Many couples that happens to find
difficulty with their paperwork, they are getting
married back home with by just signing the papers at
their town hall without taking the ceremony part and
then they come here and they have the actual ceremony
with the views of the ocean and the breathtaking sunset
and all these times, their guests don't even know about
it!
Q: When should I book my date? If I want to get
married next year, is it too soon?
A: Many people think, that it is
too early to book a wedding date but please note that
Santorini is the number 1 wedding destination the last 8
years and it is very hard to find available the date you
want even from 2 years from now.
Q: How many days residency
is required in Santorini?A: 8 days before the
wedding and 1 working day after the wedding to register
your wedding. (not for all countries though so it is
better to contact me)
Q: What papers do I need to get married?
A: Please
Q: What is an Apostille
stamp and where can I get it from?
A: The documents you will send us
must be authenticated for use abroad. This is also
called legalization of the document. Authentication
means that a seal is placed on the document which will
be recognized in the foreign country where the document
will be used and that is the Apostille stamp.
For European countries please contact your Ministry
of Foreign Affairs and for the rest countries, please contact your
Department of State of your country.
Q: How many days before the wedding you need our
paperwork?A: The latest 30 days before the wedding
BUT before you send them to us, you have to fax them or
email them to check them and tell you if they are ok or
if something is missing. If you send them without our
confirmation and the papers are not correct, the wedding
will be cancelled.
Q: If for some reason our papers are not in your
hands, what happens?A: The wedding will be either
cancelled or you can have a symbolic ceremony which is
exactly as the regular wedding ceremony but it will not
be legal, it will be like vows renewal but your guests
will not know the difference.
Q: I don't have a Greek embassy or Consultant in
my area to translate and authenticate my papers, what
can I do?A: You can send your papers to us and we
will handle the translation and the authentication for a
fee.
Q: What is the difference between a regular
photographer and videographer and a professional wedding
photographer and professional wedding videographer?A:
Most people when they find their selves in front of a
camera they just freeze and do not know what to do! This
is where are professionals come in. They make sure to
have a relaxed and fun session with them and also our
agency's professionals, edit the photos and the video,
what that means? In the photos, if you have black
circles under the eyes, or wrinkles or moles or tattoos,
we make them go and in the photos you will look perfect
and this type of editing is offered only by us and not
any other photographer in the island. In the video, we
add music and photos and we also add discreet effects so
your wedding DVD will be like a Hollywood production!
Q: Can I get married
anywhere I want in Santorini?A:
No. although Santorini is big, there are only a few
places that we have permission to use for civil
ceremonies but it doesn't make a difference because they
all have the same magnificent view. Regarding Oia
though, you have to inform us from the beginning if you
wish to get married there, as it is a different town
hall with different paperwork required and also you can
see the sunset until the end as it sets behind the
mountain. The best places to get married in Santorini is
in Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli and Pyrgos caldera
side.
